The Hancock Village Shaker Wall Clock is a replica of a design by Isaac Newton Young (1793-1865). It is believed that Isaac made around 24 clocks in New Lebanon, NY, of which 5 are thought to remain today. Our kit has tried to stay as close to the original proportion of a series of 6 clocks he created in 1840. This style of clock showcases very well the Shaker sensibility that has a purity of form still admired today.
This solid wood case kit is available in Cherry, and is very easy to assemble with parts that are mitred and cut to size. It also comes complete with the hardware and full step by step instructions.
Recommended Components for this handsome wall clock are the H16C and H17C series mechanical movements, and the QB6PS, QBC5PS, and HQBC5P Quartz/Battery movements. Dials that fit the clock are SH200, WM40G, MS200, and DS80.
The clock in the picture is outfitted with an H17C movement, and SH200 Shaker Dial.
